YouTube – BP Spills Coffee

Social media strikes again. This hilarious video spoofing the BP oil spill makes the point that no matter how good your crisis communications plan (one could convincingly argue the oil company’s don’t really have a great crisis communications plan since one of their manuals on oil spills featured details on how to rescue walruses in the event of an oil incident in the Gulf of Mexico…a place where walrusi have been non-existent for, oh, 500,000 years) most corporate communicators are woefully unprepared to deal with citizen marketer fall out.
